On Fire 03:21
You’ve been taking the stars for granted You been pulling the roots we planted And you don’t mind just as long as you get yours Watch the whole world drown while you swim ashore You tell yourself that we’re not on fire Close your eyes As you look the other way You’ve been singing with the guilty choir Running away, running away Open your mind Before we say our last goodbye Who is cleaning your conscious for ya? Is all the lying easy on ya? You know your fortune won’t last forever None of that is gonna matter when it’s over You tell yourself that we’re not on fire Close your eyes As you look the other way You’ve been singing with the guilty choir Running away, running away Open your mind Before we say our last goodbye

Consequence of convenience You could tell me we didn’t mean it But I already know the demons it’s the Consequence of convenience

Forgotten 03:04
You were young, and I held your hand I showed you light and you learned to stand You were kind back then, you were a different man You showed me love and you showed me heart You loved the sun and you worshipped the stars You were kind back then Now you act like you’ve forgotten I gave you everything I gave you life I gave you Endless possibilities To watch you throw it away I gave you everything I gave you life I gave you Endless possibilities Can you change before it’s too late? You showed me love and you showed me heart You loved the sun and you worshipped the stars I gave you everything I gave you life I gave you Endless possibilities To watch you throw it away I gave you everything I gave you life I gave you Endless possibilities Can you change before it’s too late?

about

75% of all sales and streaming revenue will be donated to the Environmental Defense Fund (www.edf.org). Please consider donating through purchasing the album and even giving an amount above the cost! I will be posting updates with donation amounts and sales as they come in on my social pages, to keep things nice and transparent.

With all the recent fires in the Amazon and Australia, and other climate crises across the world, I felt driven to find something I could personally do to help raise awareness and action, beyond my smaller every day efforts.

I found a phrase that kept repeating in my head: “the consequence of convenience”. The sentiment really struck me, knowing I have personally taken the easier route many times in life, without much consideration. We so often take the convenient choice over the more difficult one. In many ways, I think that’s how humanity has gotten in the situation we are in today.

As an independent artist, I sat down to write some songs with all of this spiraling in my head, and out came the idea to release a few environmentally inspired songs whose proceeds I could donate to an environmental fund or charity.

The resulting 3 song EP “Consequence of Convenience” is being released initially on BandCamp with the goal of raising more through people being able to “pay what they want” (aka raise much more than through streaming).

The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Julie Slonecki.
