about

Unlike her past three albums, Apogee is more heavily electronic, bass driven, and rhythmically stellar. Expanding her sound, with "Apogee", Slonecki makes music that is synth driven and yet extremely intimate. She tackles questions beyond our usual broken heart stories, wanting to know more about the universe and our place in it, expressing the common desire to do something more with your life than being sucked into the undertow of day to day mundanities. Slonecki is on a search to find something more, and to define what "more" truly means. Her songs are universal and especially poignant in today's society where it can be easy to know someone on the surface, but harder to know what's in their deepest of hearts. Her insightful and poetic lyrics accompany grand arrangements of a multitude of instruments, all performed by Slonecki. The album was self-produced and mixed in Atlanta, GA.
